Building Financial Confidence That Actually Lasts

You've probably noticed how most financial advice sounds great but feels impossible to follow. We've spent years working with people across Canberra who wanted something different—practical guidance that fits real life, not textbook scenarios.

What Happens When Financial Knowledge Becomes Second Nature

These aren't overnight transformations. They're stories about people who stuck with it and found their footing over time.

Person reviewing financial documents and making informed decisions

From Confused to Comfortable in Two Years

Hamish joined our September 2023 program thinking he'd never understand investment basics. By mid-2025, he's managing his portfolio without constant anxiety. Not because he became a financial genius—he just learned enough to make decisions that matched his actual goals.

He still checks in occasionally when markets get weird. That's normal. But he's not losing sleep anymore, and his retirement planning finally makes sense to him.

Organized financial planning materials and strategic documents

Building Knowledge That Sticks Around

The Kowalczyk family started with us in early 2024 because their budget kept falling apart by month three. They didn't need complicated spreadsheets—they needed to understand why their previous approaches weren't working.

Now they've got systems that actually fit their routine. Their kids are picking up better money habits by watching. And when unexpected expenses pop up, they handle them without the panic that used to follow.

Career Changes Don't Have to Mean Financial Chaos

Deirdre switched industries in late 2024 and worried her finances would take a hit. Because she'd been through our planning workshops the year before, she knew how to adjust her approach as her income shifted.

She's earning less right now but feels more secure than she did in her old job. The difference? She understands how each piece of her financial picture connects, so changes in one area don't throw everything off.

How We Approach Financial Education

We've found that people learn best when they can connect concepts to their actual circumstances. So that's what we focus on.

Start Where You Are

Most programs assume everyone's starting from the same place. We don't. Your current knowledge, income situation, and goals shape how we work together from day one.

Build at Your Pace

Some people grasp investing concepts quickly. Others need more time with budgeting basics. Both are fine. Our programs adapt so you're not rushing through material you don't understand yet.

Practice With Real Scenarios

We use case studies pulled from actual situations people face in the ACT region. Not generic examples—real challenges with multiple possible solutions you can discuss and apply.

Get Support When You Need It

Questions come up after workshops end. That's why our participants can reach out when they're stuck. Sometimes a quick conversation clears up weeks of confusion.

Update Your Knowledge

Tax rules change. Market conditions shift. We offer refresher sessions so the information you learned last year stays relevant to what's happening now.

Connect With Others

Learning alongside people facing similar financial questions helps. You'll find others who understand why this stuff can feel overwhelming and who are figuring it out too.

Financial educator Rune Vilhelmsen working with clients

Meet Rune Vilhelmsen

Rune's been teaching financial concepts in Canberra since 2019. Before that, he spent years watching people struggle with advice that sounded perfect but didn't work in practice. So he started focusing on what actually helps—clear explanations, realistic examples, and patience when concepts don't click right away.

He's not interested in making finance sound more complicated than it needs to be. His workshops cover what you need to know without the jargon that usually makes people tune out. And he's honest when he doesn't have a simple answer—sometimes financial decisions are genuinely tricky.

Our autumn 2025 program enrollment opens in August. If you're tired of financial advice that doesn't fit your actual life, you might find his approach refreshing.
